There is a great deal of information, not always well organized, about the 
history of various Trailways lines at

Unlike Greyhound, which was one company, Trailways was a large number of 
different companies that operated under the Trailways banner. As near as I can 
tell, Burlington Trailways was never a part of Continental Trailways. When 
Greyhound bought Continental Trailways, it cut the heart out of the Trailways 
system, but there are still 60 or 80 Trailways bus companies including one 
calling itself Burlington Trailways. See
