Gloria- Side door waycars were an early and late thing on the CB&Q. Some of the 1880's 28 Ft three window cars were built with a small side door and there were even older on the CB&Q according to a single picture of the Aurora Shops taken sometime around 1870. They seemed to have disappeared until the 1950s when several were converted from 30 Ft four window and 28 Ft three window cars, probably to replace coaches on mixed branchline trains. There don't seem to have been any recorded (even the later cars didn't make the diagram books in their new configuration) from 1900 until the conversions. This is not counting the NE-5 class cars which were converted box cars (two groups; one for WW I and another for WWII) and the CW class combines with cupolas.
