The interest is there. It seems to me that such information is vital to the
story of CB&Q equipment from both a historical record viewpoint and
certainly for modelers.
Even with my having a diagram book, I doubt that it is complete.... and
having photos of the actual trucks to accompany the article would be most
helpful as well.
I have always been curious as to why the diagram books stopped at Gas
Electrics and the first shovelnose Zephyrs.... has anyone ever seen any
diagrams or drawings for later trucks, especially passenger cars? Strange
that they would have discontinued the diagram books... what was the
replacement for them?

Years ago I began the preparation of a BRHS data sheet on freight car
trucks, beginning with No. 1 and proceeding upward. It would have been done
in two parts, and the first part is virtually complete. However, at the
time the society showed no interest in it. Is the interest there today?

I have a truck diagram book that shows them, but unfortunately it is packed
and I can't get to it now.

Hi all,
I have been looking through some car diagram books and more specifically at
the flat car diagrams. I notice that they have a column labeled "Truck No."
I am familiar with the basic Bettendorf, Archbar, Andrews, etc trucks. I
have also seen diagrams CB&Q drawings of a 3a, 7, and some other
miscellaneous trucks. Does anyone have a comprehensive list and or diagram
book of CB&Q freight car trucks?
Thanks,
Dale Grice
