From: HOL WAGNER
The C&S USRA 55-ton hoppers remained almost exclusively on the C&S and
FW&D, but C&S steel drop-bottom gons were pooled with the Q fleet of
mainly composite drop-bottom gons and were common sights on Lines East.

I'd like to know if the C&S fleet of coal hoppers generally stayed
online or whether they may have been considered part of the general
fleet of coal cars on the CB&Q. I've been thinking that some of their 55
ton USRA cars would look good mixed with the "Q" 3 bays and composite
gons and hoppers.
My thoughts are that they were kept on their own C&S lines and weren't
used throughout the CB&Q system. I don't think the Bulletin on the coal
fields mentions these cars as part of the equipment used. Thanks!
