Steve-
Thanks, but I found the listing in tho online 1923 City Directory.... the way
the listings ran I missed it the first time I looked.
I have a suspicion that the company evolved into the Shotcrete Company but have
not followed up on that hunch. The firm did a lot of tunnel lining work....
even for the water mains out to the lakefront cribs in Chicago. I wouldn't be
surprised to find they did the Chicago Tunnel Company linings as well although
I did not see any such reference.
Best regards,
Charlie Vlk

Rupert-
The 1910 and 1923 Chicago City Directories, the only ones readily available
online, do not show a listing for the Concrete Mining & Placing Company.
Will keep on looking for any reference to the firm. The Newberry Library has
all the City Directories on Microfilm; the 1911 or 1912 issues may show the
firm
if it was listed under that name.

I'm trying to find out about a company called Concrete Mining & Placing Co.
that
was operating in Chicago in 1911.
Is there anyone, perhaps in the construction industry, who can offer
suggestions
as to research leads, industry libraries or other resources?
Thanks
