I have found an article about the Burlington oiling tracks west of Chicago to
keep down the dust in 1911, with a photo apparently showing a CB&Q tank car.
The article states that the work to create the sprinkler attached to the bottom
of the tank was carried out by the mechanical department, so the assumption is
that it was a Burlington car.

The car matches a Bettendorf tank car shown in its 1907 catalogue, but I have
not found any reference in Diagram books etc.to the Burlington having any such
cars.

However, in 1901-1902, the B&MR acquired 30 tank cars and they were listed in
the ORER's for maintenance of way service, without any road numbers being
shown. They disappeared in 1904 with the general renumbering of subsidiaries'
equipment. Does anyone know anything about the B&MR cars, or what happened to
them.
