Cleaning up that mess at Congress Park was fun working East End Swing Job at the time Steve in SC Headed to Batavia Friday ________________________________ From: "wohrnell@kc.rr.com" <wohrnell@kc.rr.com> To: CBQ@yahoogroups.com Sent: Thu, April 7, 2011 8:34:17 AM Subject: [CBQ] Re:Burlington Bridge Ken, If the bridge is fabricated from Weathering steel, best known under the trademark as Cor-tan steel it won't be painted. It will be left to weather (rust) which apparently provides a protective coating. There was an accident at Congress Park back in 79 or 80 which took out the bridge(s)over the IHB. The new bridges were fabricated from Cor-tan. Later while working in the system engineering office, I asked the Chief Engineer of Bridges when they were going to paint that bridge. He said "I better not catch someone painting that bridge". Lenny [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] ------------------------------------ Yahoo!
