I took slides of all the BHC equipment in "73 - what was approx. length, wood or metal & configuration of these bunk cars before BHC converted them? I can then look thru my slides to find the right match Gerald To: CBQ@yahoogroups.com From: jterry618@hotmail.com Date: Tue, 5 Apr 2011 14:48:53 +0000 Subject: [CBQ] CB&Q bunk cars - Hill City, SD Sometime in the 1960s or 1970s the CB&Q gave or sold the Black Hills Central a pair of bunk cars. One has been converted into a passenger coach and the other has been cut down into a work flat. Does anyone have the numbers or any other technical details regarding these cars? I've looked through many early slides of the Black Hills Central and can't make out the numbers. The railroad also had a pair of Q flatcars that were converted into open air cars, but again, I can't make out the numbers. The sheer volume of equipment - cabooses, especially - that went through Hill City over the years is simply amazing. Trying to sort out the details is next to impossible, but I'm working on it.
