I am seeking information, especiallly photos, of the tops of the oil cisterns
on the FW&D/C&S tenders. I have an 0-1a I an converting to an FW&D E-4. THere
are a number of side views in books but no top views to correctly locate the
details and related piping. I made some detailed photos of #303 at the Wichita
Falls museum several years ago when I was allowed to get on top of the engine
and tender. This is clearly a cistern that was fit in the coal bunker I need
information on the larger locomotives.
I am also looking for infomration on the oil fueling facilites for these
engines. Living in the East, where coal reigned, makes it difficult to
accurately model the Denver Road.
Finally, I know that the Q regularly "borrowed" locomotives from one their
subsidiaries, when then needed extra power. Were any oil burners from either
the C&S or the Denver Road sent East on temporary duty?
  Thanks for any information.
                                   Pat
