Hi Gerald,
Just a head's up...I won't be allowed to put this review in the Zephyr, the
BRHS BOD will not allow any inclusion of Randy's products.

Subject: [CBQ] Review of 2011 MP206 BR Calendar
Although they have been available several weeks (& nearly sold out now due
to most going to past customers), the 2011 Burlington wall calendar from
Milepost 206 is another winner. Unique this yr is the chance to 'review' it
in entirety at the website but wait till you hold it in your hands (all 11"
x 17" on glossy stock).
There's the usual balance of old & new, Lines E & W and the usual 13
months with 6 color, 4 'duotone' and 3 b/w photos with 2 of the color pics
repeated on the front/back covers. Highlights are the pic of an early FtW&D
Geep with 3 different waycars, an Erie shovel riding rails mounted on a flat
car as it unloads ballast, an old Q steam loco with a CW (coach/waycar)
'hop' and a crossing scene with a vintage auto & crossbuck for era modelers.
Photographers include Harold Ziehr, our own Phil Weibler and others plus old
photos from collections. The latter includes a small town 'yard' scene
published last year in a Q book but now in a larger format & better
reproduction full of so much detail it looks like one of those contrived
Fine Scale Miniature scenes. A 'mystery' pic is the CZ Silver Solarium in
LaCrosse, WI in early 1970.
There are photos and there are photos: Phil Weibler's view of Quincy
include the old depot 'tower' expertly framed by rolling stock, a color view
of a post-WWII depot has a colorful gas-electric and the view from the rear
of the "mixed" on the Washington, IA branch shows it handling an old coach
AND a Troop Kitchen aka Q Express car (which has been the subject of a lot
of posts recently). Probably the best compliment I can give this calendar
series is one never sees a used one for sale on eBay or at meets.
Those of you who have ever purchased this calendar product undoubtedly
have the 2011; those that have not, there's but a few left: $12.95 + $3
postage to MP206, Box 543, W. Burlington, IA 52655-0543.
