As with all ex-passenger service equipment, into the 250000 series (ex-frt
equipment went into 200000-230000 series). I do recall (need to be home to
look at my slides) of at least one kept in its original number but in MoW
service, as I recall, in Red Oak, IA.

They were used as tool cars(MWT) and material cars (MWM) for all sorts of MOW
gangs.
Some were even repainted into BN MOW colors.
