I reviewed photos I have and show E7s with BN#s of 9911, 9912, 9919, 9923,
9924, 9926,and 9929 showing the CB&Q nose stripes. Other than 9920 which in
my mind is a full BN repaint that left the stainless steel in place, I did
not see any E7s without CB&Q nose stripes.

I am unable to answer your question on the nose stripes, but many of the
E7's
that went to BN were renumbered. I've included that information below. The
unit number in parenthesis indicate that the number was assigned but the
unit
never received the number before being retired.

I realize this is venturing a tad off topic. After the merger the BN started
to
renumber some locomotives, were the E7's immune to this? I know 9920 was
partially repainted into cascade green...but did any of the E7's have their
nose
stripes taken off? (not the grills)
