From: HOL WAGNER
In the late 1920s daily-expect-Sunday service between Quincy and
Louisiana was provided by mixed trains 91-92. By 1933 the run had been
cut back to Quincy-Pike, still passing through Rockport on a
daily-except-Sunday basis. An 0-6-0 would be highly unusual on this
over-the-road mixed, but a 2-6-0 would be just the ticket.

Hi All,
I received this email asking about service to Rockport, IL. I've
found that
the Q's line south of Quincy did indeed go through Rockport, on its
way to a
junction on the east side of the Mississippi across from Louisiana, MO.
Looking at satellite images, you can trace what used to be the line.
Would anybody on the list have any information about this line and
be able
to answer Mr. Gay's question about motive power?
Thanks for the assist.
Dave

Subject: request for information
I am trying to reconstruct information from my youth in the village of
Rockport, Illinois. Up until approximately the 1930's the town was
served by
CB&Q from Quincy. The locomotive was either and 0-6-0 or a
2-6-0.usually it
ran with a baggage car and part time with a freight car, passenger
car, or
some sort of combination car. Do you have any information on this
train,
particularly the locomotive.
Sincerely, William W. Gay, 115 S. Millbrooke Court, Advance, NC 27006
