Hard to tell but I don't think it is around La Crosse as I don't recognize the
bluff formations. Not too good on time periods but guessing it is pre-zephyr
rebuilding era when there was more single track and the line had more curves.
If it is on the La Crosse Div then I might guess the area just south of
Fountain City and north of where the dam #5 is now. The line used to take a jog
similar to the map and I think the bluffs might fit. Other guess would be the
just south of Stoddard area.

Hi All,
I have just uploaded seven images of the wreck and the diagram that Robert
describes below to my Yahoo Photo Album. There are both CB&Q and Great Northern
cars that can be identified. Each photo's location is shown on the diagram of
the wreck.
Any ideas of when or where it happened? I'm planning on using these in the
Zephyr Q&A.

Dear BRHS:
I wonder if one of your members might be able to help us. We have just
discovered (not in the CB&Q archives, but in another collection of personal
papers) seven photographs of a train wreck somewhere on the CB&Q. I attach
scans of the 7 photos, plus a sketch map from the back of photo no. 1. The map
is very detailed, showing the location of each car in relation to a bridge and
a river, but with no indication of where in the Burlington world this might
have happened.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Sincerely yours,
Bob Karrow
