[CBQ] Football Specials

In Regard to taking the train to sports events,  Here in the Minneapolis area, 
the Hiawatha Light Rail line is used heavily from the south and southeast 
suburbs for transit from free parking lots to Twins Baseball, Vikings Football 
and Timberwolfs Basketball games.  The new baseball stadium is adjacent to the 
end of the light rail line with a direct connection to the stadium.  The new 
NorthStar rail transit line also ends at the new stadium and special baseball 
specials are run for home games.  
The light rail line has a stop adjacent to the football dome.
The planned expansion of light rail from downtown Minneapolis to downtown St. 
Paul will go thru the University of MN and will serve the new football stadium.
I do not know if rail transit was ever used in the past but certainly the old 
streetcar system was used to get to the original stadium and ballparks.  
The old Great Northern Union Yard was adjacent to the U of M original stadium 
but remember that James Hill was not interested in hauling people.
