Pete - Kelly & I were referring to Z "scale".
The Z "posts" certainly were unique to the Q. Other RR's had dual speed posts
(frt & passenger) but none that I know of had a 3rd design just for their
streamliners. The posts are also in the BRHS reprint of CB&Q Standards that

For the "uninitiated"...the Z post was the speed restriction applicable to
Zephyr trains as opposed to Freight, and "Conventional" passenger trains.

B&Q His. Soc. days, we had a mbr make some plastic castings HO scale Q milepost
arkers which he sold at a VERY inexpensive price just to mbrs. I think he may
lso have offered them in N (but not in Z). I've forgotten his name (any old
brs recall?)
In any case, in Z they will be quite small although in real life (a few can
till be found in isolated areas) they were tall & very noticeable!
