I'm partial to the CB&Q colors, but since there are so many preserved waycars
in original schemes it really doesn't bother me if the BN green wins out....
just so the car is preserved.

I vote for that too. Original CB&Q colors.

List,
My nephew is the Manager at St James Park where waycar 14351 is located.
They want to repaint/restore it.
We have had discussion about it here recently.
Looks like he is offering a challenge:
Should waycar 14351 be repainted in it's current BN green or back to
it's original livery?
What would the original livery be? (pictures? inside and out)
The question about Illinois Railway Museum addresses if the waycar would be
at a location more accessible to the public and how would IRM address it's
restoration.
It is currently a static display with nobody allowed inside or on.
It's located in Warrenville, about 15 minutes away from the Geneva Comfort
Inn. I'm hoping we'll have access to it during the Fall Meet in Geneva.

Hey Uncle,
I have another challenge for you,
There are a few of us here at the District who favor the repainting of the
caboose in the original 1906 colors: If there is any chance of making this
happen, I could use the following facts to help support the argument to
use this color and logo:
· What is the original color and formula including logo?
· Can you send me a pictures to show this color as a good
visual?
· What is the original color of the trucks? Wheels,
undercarriage, and any other part that could be different?
· Is there any photos of the original interior including color?
And if so what about its formula?
· How many of you would support this decision rather than 1970
cascade green or any other color?
· If this car was at the IRM, what would they do moving forward?
I am talking to the Fire Marshal and County about opening this in the near
future, even if only for scheduled guided tours. What is the date of the
annual meeting you have coming up soon and if you think this would be a good
day for us to schedule a tour (if I can get the permission of course)
I want to thank you and your club members for all the support you have
given in the past and with any help you can give me now.
