Indeed - I was describing a different place (was 3-4 yrs ago I was there while
working in St. Cloud area). The place I am thinking of is on west side of a
N-S hwy in the country with all sorts of rolling stock out of doors, no depot.
Sorry, I should have looked at the link you provided first. Will have to get
my Minn road map out (again the unique item @ place I referred to is an M&StL
steam loco). Anyway the place I am referring to had a fair amount of GN & NP
hwt's and frt cars and one CB&Q along with some private owner stock, early
diesels, etc.

Gerald,
Perhaps you have the wrong place. I called the auctioneer yesterday to ask a
question about an items description on his website. I posed the question in
regard to you post. First he said he doesn't drive 1,800 miles to look at junk.
He said he found the museum to be in excellent shape with smaller items in
glass display cases. The grounds were in excellent shape. The gentleman who is
selling at one time had a couple of flat cars which he apparently sold a few
years back. This person (84) is also physically and mentally sound.
You are correct in saying it is sad. Unfortunately children of the older
generation have no desire to keep this stuff around. There have and and will be
collections of photographs/slides and memorabilia that end up in the dump.
Just for that reason, there is a group here in Kansas City that is trying to
start an archives to save this bit of American history.
