Sorry that was the line from Lewistown ( just North of the Yard here) to the
Lower Coal Docks.
The line out of Buckhart was East of the Liverpool Road on 24.

I remember crossing a set of tracks along US Rout 24 between Lewistown and
Little
America, IL. The highway goes in an maybe an east-west direction or more
northeast. Whenever I went with my family on road trips to Peoria, we
used to cross the bridge at Havana and take ILL Route 78-97 north to US
24 and then head east to Peoria. Before reaching Little America, the
highway drops down into a large valley. At the bottom of the hill was a
set of railroad tracks. The crossing was guarded with flashing signals
only no gate. In the many years that I traveled that highway to Peoria,
I don't recall ever getting stopped by a train there. I don't recall
when the rails were officially abandoned and the crossing declared
exempt. I know the rails were finally removed along with the crossing
signals. I think I may have seen a map of the CB&Q system, and there was
a line to a place called West Havana. This would have been somewhere in
Fulton Co. Being a fan of the C&IM, I don't recall if the C&IM or it's
predescessor-The Chicago, Peoria, and St. Louis had any connections or
interchanges with any other railroads in the Havana, IL area. I am
assuming the rails that I crossed in this valley probably belonged to
the Burlington Route and maybe connected to the mainline at Canton, IL.
I'm just wondering where these rails headed after crossing the highway
towards the south. There isn't much there except the river shore and
plains. If anyone has information, I would like to know about it.
Thanks,
Jeff
