When would that have been Gerald?
A number of DRGW tunnel motors went through Blue Island on the Rock Island in
the mid 70s. Also nearly all SP units.
Thanks!

Exactly - when I was with C&NW, we took delivery of new D&RGW units for them @
Proviso (i.e their Loco brass came to Proviso for the 'break-in' and then they
went toward Colorado on C&NW frts.

Gerald,
Illinois tax law changed when the new state constitution became
effective in 1970. After that, every RR in the west, took delivery in
Chicago both from EMD and GE. While I was assigned by EMD to Clyde
during the 1970 - 1972 time period, I placed units in service for
most of the western RRs, including BN, UP and D&RGW. SP units were
placed in service on the south side of town.
