Norm and fans of the Q:

Mossmain is about a stone's throw from the east end of Laurel yard.  The wye 
that led to the GN is on the east side of the east end overpass, while the yard 
is on the west side of the same overpass.  The GN trains tied up and originated 
in Laurel.  I always figured the trackage rights extended into Laurel. 

Checking an old Butte Division employee timetable, it shows "Trains between 
Mossmain and Billings and Laurel be governed by Northern Pacific Ry. Time Table 
and Rules."
