Hi to all Today was one of those great days, started off by firing up the stove in its new temporary position in the car to warm things up and then cooked a fabulous breakfast on it too, restoration in style i say! We then installed 4 of the original as discovered windows back in their original positions (this gives us an idea of how the bunk car was arranged). the windows are a mish mash from various cars 528,525,529 with one totally original one from our car, amazing that the cherry frame soldiered on so long, especially with original glass too !! We then carried on with the rebuilding of the West end fire damaged in a beer fueled stove emptying accident many years ago when the wind direction was ignored ?! What we found next is what dreams are made of, the beautiful gold leaf scrollwork applied by Pullman in 1887, under an 1/8 th inch of paint and varnish and unseen for at least 111 years. Above this leaf was more green paint applied by either UPD&G or more likely C&S in 1899 and one gold line. We are so pleased with this find it will look stunning when finished. Take a look please at http://mikepannell254.fotopic.net/c1599811_193.html Many thanks Mike Pannell Car 57 project Cheyenne [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] ------------------------------------ Yahoo!
