Micheal
According to Mike Spoor's Color Guide, all the NE-10's were painted orange
in about 1954. However, Data Sheet 9 and "Waycars of the
CB&Q" both state only some were painted orange. To further confuse things,
in one reference, only the mineral red waycars were
stated to have been repainted silver, whilst another reference says most
cars became silver including some of the orange ones!
The photos I've found so far show
13500 orange 4/67
13501 orange 2/70
13502 silver 2/70
13503 silver 6/63
13505 silver 8/62
13508 orange no date
13510 silver 5/59
13513 silver 6/63
13514 silver 8/69
13515 orange, caption states not repainted
13516 orange 5/69
13517 orange 4/68
13520 orange 5/70
13522 silver 5/68
