By sheer luck, I have 2 good Feb. 8, 1891 Burlington public tiemtables.

Normally I'd swap one to another serious CB&Q collector to expand ea other's
collections but I know a few of you who are not TT collectors per se would like
one good OLD CB&Q TT so here is your chance. This is one of the earliest
examples of a traditional red cover. It's the large sheet format (40" x 18")
made up of 44 panels that fold to normal TT size. One side is nearly
completely a 4 color system map from coast to coast with insets of Alaska &
Mexico. All railines are shown with BR routes in bold. Being pre-1891, B&MR,
H&StJ, CB&N, etc are labeled as such. The remaining 'tables' cover all BR
lines & branches plus 2 panels for American Express & English RR ads. There is
also a panel titled "Move West with your Manufactory!" and a half panel with
info such as buying playing cards, how to acquire a large system map, sleeping
car rates, the "New BROAD Gauge Lines to the Pacific Coast" and 'Cheap lands in
the West'. 1st Class meals were 75 cents & running time from Chicago to St.
Paul was 13&1/2 hrs! (It was #47/48 then too with 1/2 & 4/5 running Chi to
Denver)

I'll entertain the best offer by Sept. 17 and can then either mail to the buyer
or deliver to you at the Annual Meet in Rockford. I will also trade it for
anything CB&Q of somewhat equal value that I do not have. It can be apples for
oranges. Ask me! vje68@hotmail.com

This would look nice displayed in a 2-sided manner so both the map and the
tables could be viewed. Some lines listed were abandoned before WWI: Mt.
Morris to the IC connection in Forreston and Batavia north to join C&NW @
Geneva, IL. Gerald
