Just a note that while the ETTs are about as close to exact recorded Q
history as we can get on the operations side. I would advise they are far from
flawless:
Fox River Branch:
1939- w/f leaves Eola M,W,F, for Mendota via Ottawa and Earlville
returning T,TH and SAT. No mention of a Fox River w/f. possibly in the depths
of
the depression this is correct. This was called the "'roustabout".
1946- no "roustabout" to Ottawa and Mendota and no Fox River, were 85/86
doing everything ?
1947-Fox river w/f runs 6 days a week but no roustabout.
1958-Fox River runs Eola to Ottawa and return,no roustabout
1959-Fox river operates but no Roustabout. This is the year the Baker main
bridge burned and was abandoned. Roustabout changed to a Ottawa turn at
night.
We know the roustabout operated during these time frames as the engine log
book at Eola Rdhse.show engines assigned over various periods.
During this entire time 85/86 are allowed 4.5 to 6 hrs between Montgomery
and Streator.
Guess the ETTs are no better than the proof readers who checked them.
