Rodney -

Who was the manufacturer of the Flexi-Van?

You sall see that it was Strick Corporation ("STRICK"), which at that time
in history was a subsiday of The New York Central's Dispatch Shops,
Inc., East Rochester, NY.

"STRICK" only manufactured containers and highway trailers from materials
of aluminum, laminated wood, plywood and steel - not stainless or Cor-Tin
steel, but Grade C cabon steel for the underframe and the tandeums.

Stainless steel for highway equipment is confined to the barrells on tank
wagons.
Further, "THE Q" like "TTHE CENTRAL" used side door equipped Flexi-Van con-
tainers for the transport of U.S. Mail.

Fyi,

Does any one have the lettering digram for the Flex-Van cars.

>>From the picture in CB&Q color guide to freight and passenger equipment
page 92 the side door was aluminum, sides was stainless steel with ribs
of aluminum.

Thank for any help
