Denny-
Lyle Dowell, the DCC guru at Des Plaines Hobbies, has done several LokSound
installations in Con-Cor 9900s. Any Loksound sound decoder can be used; the
sound file is replaced with one from the Tony's Train Exchange website. You
can retain the "Buck Rogers ray gun" horn and fire alarm bell or replace it
with a two chime blat and regular bell, as the shovelnoses had them most of
their career.

Subject: [CBQ] Pioneer Zephyr winton sound
To now, I have not been considering sound in my rebuilt NPP PIONEER
ZEPHYR, but I recently heard that "someone" may be producing a decoder
with the Winton sound, and with the proper single trumpet horn. So far
I have been unable to locate it. Is this true, or am I smoking it?
I also DID read that someone had taken the sound off the SILVER STREAK
sound track, and if so and it was able to be done legally, I would
think that there would still be a world of complexities to bring IT
to market.
I have looked at the Loksound 8 cyl. EMD diesel decoders as a fall
back, but the 3 chime horns give them away.
