Quick question - what is the appropriate shade of green for the trim on a CB&Q
depot? The old depot from Waverly, NE had been in the city park for years but
the city never really got a proper plan for it. It was sold to the Camp Creek
Threshers, a local tractor and historical preservation group. It now resides
on a farmstead about two miles east of Waverly. Over the years the depot's
exterior suffered badly. Last fall it was resided in vinyl (sorry, not enough
money available to restore the wood siding) in dark red. Now that warm weather
is approaching we are planning to touch up the trim in green. The depot is one
of several older structures that have been saved and moved to this site. There
is a lot of work to be done on and around it, but the group is trying. There
are railroadiana displays in the waiting room and agent's office and I have a
small H-O model railroad in the express room. The depot is open to the general
public during the Camp Creek Threshers' annual meet on the third weekend of
July and during the Camp Creek Railroaders fall meet (usually third weekend of
September).
Thanks for any replies,
Gary Binder
