Ex-Q E8A blt 1954 & last operated by MARC as their #66 in 2002, is 1 of

many pcs of equipment being disposed of by the St. Louis Transportation Museum

(many of us toured there the yr of the Annual Meet in St. Louis)

It's still in BN green/white just with MARC 66 on nose & rear flank

(within the striping).

The museum prefers any & all of the equipment (steam locos, business cars,

cabooses, etc) go to a museum but are considering a number of options (thinning

their holdings AND facing reality of an economy that will not permit them to

give even minimal care to some of their rolling stock). This is the only

Burlington item.

Email me for link to the disposal listing.

article in the Zephyr or part of a Bulletin on Q mixed trains. Using the

responses as a start (what equipment was used on which line, time frames, etc)

and a few photos along with stories such as Archie's and "Presto!"

- an article!

some photos, etc. Bulletins & Zephyrs do not come from thin air; they need

input from you & me (& yes I'm working on 2 articles plus my

recurring column on Burlington collectibles) .

#14560 I once owned; 1 of 6 rebuilt in "59 for branch service. In this case

the Edgemont-Lead/ Deadwood line. Also excerpts from timetables, ANY year, as to

which branches advertised 'mixed' service)
