I'm confused about some dates for the 2nd track from Herrington to Graf. The alignment chart suggests 1946 for construction (rail is 1946) and also 1946 for CTC. Regarding construction, 1946 may be the right date, but the latest timetable I have (#53, 02/47) makes no mention of Graf. The footnotes for Savanna Tower to N. LaCrosse subdivision indicate Herrington to Grand Crossing is CTC, but single track. I can't find any mention of a 2nd track or control siding Herrington to Graf. However, the speed restrictions list a speed thru the turnout at MP 296.29 (which is Graf's location) but identify the location as LaCrosse. Regarding CTC, it appears to me that 1946 is the wrong date. Timetable for 1939 identifies Herrington to CMStP&P Crossing as single track known as the Freight Track, movement in both directions by signal indication, automatic block system rules in effect. Timetable for July 1943 indicates Herrington to CMStP&P Crossing as single track, CTC in effect. Timetables in between 1939 and 1947, or after 1947 might verify the actual dates.
