HOWEVER......
..... FW&D 750A and C&S 700D were EMD Phase 1 Intermediate F7As. They were
freight units and were painted in the standard "Grayback" scheme.
Both were damaged in (separate) wrecks and were "rebuilt" in new F9A carbodies
using whatever components could be salvaged from the pieces.
They were never painted in Silver.
Other than the nostalgia value, the brass PFM units are crude by today's
standards, both mechanically and in appearance and might not be worth any
repainting. All CB&Q passenger units were in the 99XX series. Renumbering
(should be just the numberboard if it is in the Passenger Scheme... although
IIRC they were available with factory decoration in CB&Q Freight scheme but
with Silver instead of "Imitation Aluminium"...which was White / Light Gray.
The passenger F3s were 9960-9962ABC, and the next E7 was 9964. You could
renumber the unit to 9963A or 9963C (9963B would have been the B Unit
assuming a three unit F9ABA set).
Charlie Vlk
Charles,
CB&Q, C&S, FW&D did not by any of the model "F9".
You are correct, BN 6572 was a 1971 built C&S SD-45.
You may be talking about F-9 6572 would be Ex CN and VIA.
