Today I received "Rules and Rates of Pay for Yardmen and Switchtenders"
between the CB&Q and BRT for Yardmen date 1/1/1918. While much of what is
inside
reads like the later editions I'm used to there was one very sobering item.
Rule 43-"full consideration for position of switchtenders shall be given to
yardmen disabled in the service of the company,..............
Makes one realize the inherit dangers of the trade.
