Hi to all,
we went out today to strip car 525, out at Carr Co, for anything usefull we
can use on 513, 57 whatever you like to call it !! Its not often that you can
find a 107 year old donor car to help you restore a 122 year old car ! Its way
beyond saving but yielded window frames (different type to ours but we needed
to see the construction) toplight fittings (exactly the same as ours) although
a different company manufactured this car. The last two remnants of etched
glass Colorado and southern marked windows (two different patterns and fonts)
were interesting and useful for patterns. The rear door was removed for re-use
and all the ventilator screens above the platforms. All in all a useful day.
