Good afternoon to all,
Well the lifting of the car began this afternoon and the only disaster is
that the front door lock now wont work !!! Everything went well she is now off
the railroad ties and packing that she has sat on for the last 54 years and we
can begin to see in details the underframe and bolster fixings, gas tank
supports and other structural pieces. There was no groaning, splitting or
twisting noises, just shows what the car builders (Pullman) workmanship was
like 123 years ago.
I will upload a couple of shots to the car 513 section asap.
We are looking at a possible move date of wednesday next week.
