I finally check out this site. Appears to be the same aerial photo
system/program used by Microsoft TerraServer. At least for
where I live, which only has one photo available, for 2006. Not very
historical. At least TerraServer provides topo maps as well,
and many might date from 1980 or even earlier.
Further, at least in Iowa, the state makes available historical aerial photos
online.
Of course having high speed internet makes this site and others usable. Not
sure I would want to try it with dial-up. I remember
those days with TerraServer, took forever to load.
