There's a photo for sale on ebay (item #350033067948) of Q 0-6--0 #509. We
know from the block sheets that Russ posted that #509 was assigned to Eola in
1952 and was used on the Alley and the Lyon Jobs.
this shot appears to be the #509 coming down the "outbound" from the "house"
at Eola. We know from another photo that being pointed east it is most
likely assigned to the "Alley" this day but..........
Is this shot at Eola ? The cinder hoist in the background is in
approximately the right place and the sand "box" is about where it should be.
Can anybody who's worked around Eola or seen early photos confirm my view?
Thanks,
Leo Phillipp
