How fresh was the paint in the photographs? Washing the cars, in those days  
probably used chemicals we're not supposed to use anymore, I would think the  
color of the paint would change with the daily washing of the Pullmans. I've  
seen photos of the shadow lined paint being destroyed in a short  time by the 
wash racks.
