The line from Cameron Jct was the original route opened by the H&StJ in 1870;
it ran to Lathrop, Holt, Kearney, Liberty and Birmingham before joining the WAB
to North Kansas City, then across the Hannibal Bridge into KC. The
"Centennial Cut-Off" (Needles to Maxwel, part of which was over the Carrolton
branch) opened in Oct 1952. The old line north of Kearney to Cameron was
abandoned in 1962.
