Dry closet is indeed correct and not solely unique to the Burlington. "Dry"
indicated no running water. These were built to standard plans every winter @
the Aurora Carpentry shop to keep some MoW emp's occupied who otherwise would
be furloughed til spring track work began. The finished dry closets were sent
out in the spring and dropped off at sites that needed new ones. There were
depots without running water into BN days. (Milw's depot @ Green Island, IA
was 'dry' til its closing in the 80's)

enginehouse plansAn early 'Zephyr' has a scale drawing of a standard Burlington
gas-electric enginehouse. This was part of a scheme we once had ofpublishing
scale drawings and use them for the basis of model contestsat annual meets. We
also published a standard outhouse!
