Hello,
I know where a "Q" Depot is sitting right now.
Built in 1860, 110' long and 2?' wide.
It is in Lewistown, Il.

The depot in question is the proto Dave showed of a CB&N (Chi., Burl &
Northern) aka LaCrosse Div with the unique steep roof, gable ends, small size,
etc. There are 2 or more in existence: Pepin, Wis & Thomsen, IL (those of you
who attended the Dbq annual saw the latter) & perhaps another in Northern
Illinois. At one time there were scores of these from Savanna to Twin Cities
(built late 1880's-90's) and then duplicated on non-CB&N lines in Illinois due
to the design attributes. Of all 'standard' Q depots, they are by far the most
distinctive. So what do you say fellow mbrs? If you model the Q in Wis or
Illinois or just want a depot that screams "Burlington", this is the one! Let
Dave know. Thanks! Gerald (I have a vested interest & son Lee & I provided the
photos & scale drwgs to Dave; note too several others survived BN but were
destroyed in BN derailments - what are the odds?)
