Ken,
Yes, the CB&Q was rather mixed up in this regard. As it
turned out "27394" ended up being the BN and now BNSF
number for Council Bluffs.
Gerald Edgar is sending me a copy of a 1967 book he has.
When I get that will try to fit it in with the other
information that I have.
I appreciate your response and will let you know if I
still have some holes in the pattern.
I would be very interested in a list that shows Galesburg/
Willis Yard as the number "165". This is yet another system.
I am also interested in telegraph calls for the entire
CB&Q. They were not put in timetables until just before the
end when two thirds of the stations were already closed.
Thanks much!
Russ

Russ,
I have two books of station numbers, one dated 1952 and one dated 1968.
The 1968 is all five digit numbers Council Bluffs being 27394. The 1952
book is a combination of one to four digit numbers and alpha numeric,
with Council Bluffs being A492.
What are you looking for ?
