Rick,
The Burlington began changing out the AFCs on its troopers in the mid-1950s,
By late 1959 the change was complete.
The replacement truck chosen (by the Q and most other owners of converted
troopers) was the American Steel Foundries A-3 Ride Control truck.
I have changed out several of my Walthers BE-1 troopers with the Kato A-3.
It is a beautiful, great-riding truck. I strongly recommend it.
Regards,
Dave Lambert

Subject: [CBQ] Trucks under BE-1s
I have a pair of the Walthers converted troop cars, they came with the
Allied Full Cushion trucks. I notice in Spoor's Color Guide that in later
years, they had different trucks. What kind of trucks replaced the AFCs for
the BE-1s in passenger service.
I apologize if this has been asked before, I cannot find the answer in my
archived emails.
Thanks
Rick Keil
