Box cars with straw for padding
Some were used for ballast on ships going to India and the dock streets were
found paved with Purington Bricks by members of the 745th Railway Op Battalion
when they were there in WWII
I have either 5 or 7 different style of bricks from Purington

Subject: [CBQ] Brick Shipments
Does anyone on the List happen to know how the Purington Brick Co. in
Galesburg shipped its loads around the country - boxcar, flatcar, open gondola?
Did they have their own identification markings? I know the Q had a spur into
the brickyards.
Many thanks,
