For those with the patience to scratch build, Bob Hundman did a four-part
series on constructing CB&Q stock cars in the Oct 91, Jan 92, and May 92 issues
of Mainline Modeler. He built three cars at a time. Ed Martin also did an
article on scratchbuilding Q stock cars in the Sep 91 issue of the same
magazine; that article included scale plans for the SM-16/18 cars. I haven't
tried my hand at these projects yet, but there near the top of my "Q" of things
to do.
