I think I would question whether this was an original slide? Al Chione has
sold duplicate sets of my work, and would almost bet this is a duplicate.
There were only two of us and I'm sure that the other fan wouldn't dispose of
an original slide.
Yes, the September 14, 1959 trip was the last "scheduled" round trip because
the mail contract (pouch mail) was lost, but I cannot state whether it WAS
ACTUALLY the last run for 9768 on the branch, as after September 15th, the
crew assignment was no longer in effect, and then they only operated the
line on an "as needed" basis. Only motive power I did see on the "as
needed" operations was the 9143 and 9145 (SW-1s).
Be careful to say Never though!
