Had been home from Viet Nam for two weeks and was working the 2nd trick at
Monmouth. If I recall it was close to 60 degrees and raining cats and dogs
while I was working (#12) the Nebraska Zephyr . The temperature plummeted later
that evening and began to snow.
I believe some of the snow ended up in mechanical reefers and was sent down
to Florida for the kids to see. They also dumped it in the Chicago River.
Two weeks later I was in Chicago on my way down to Ft. Sill and things seemed
to have been cleaned up pretty well.
