I have a couple of question regarding CB&Q transfer service in the
Minneapolis/St.Paul area in the late 60's. To what roads did the
Burlington make DIRECT transfers with? Where? And did other roads
transfer cars back to Dayton's Bluff-or was it always a drop and pick
up arrangement? I have been told that the Q did transfers directly
with the GN at Union Yard, NP,CNW,CGW etc. at Minnesota Transfers
Midway yard "ONLY", but I have seen photos of Q power at 1st Ave.
North in downtown Minneapolis, and on the NP at Mississippi Street. Or
was it set up that it was on a "As needed" basis, and could go
anywhere? Can someone shed some light on this for me.
Thank you,
Rob B.
