I know that Burlington and Santa Fe each purchased 1 car. Who purchased the
3rd car that was able to be sold?

Sometime last year (I think) there was some discussion on the
Pendulum Cars. There were actually 5 cars built. There was also
some discussion as to what happened to the plans / drawings for the
cars. Some of the plans, and those for proposed cars, ended up at
the Pullman Library. Along with photos of the cars, trucks and
various features. Also various test results, correspondence, etc.
Plans were made for sleepers, dining cars, tourist sleepers and other
cars. Timing is everything, in this case, bad timing for the company.
The other two cars were for what seemed to be for test purposes only,
they were much lower versions of an observation and coach. They did
not get sold to a railroad, and their ultimate fate is not (yet?)
known. The file that was found still has to be indexed and
such. But it is interesting to note that at least some of this
information that was thought lost was actually not lost at all.
