invites you to East Texas Nov. 17-19 for the
2006 Texas State Railroad Railfan Weekend.
The 2006 edition of this popular event features rides behind two of the
historic railroad?s steam locomotives, photo runbys, a pizza party with
railroad slide show (bring YOUR slides to share!), a shop tour and
more. The fare for this fun weekend of steam railroading is only $65
per person.
In addition, a special room rate is available at the host hotel, the
Palestine Holiday Inn Express, and other lodging is available in the
area, including a variety of Bed & Breakfasts and camping facilities.

9:30 am - 10:30 am, Registration at TSRR Rusk Depot.
11:00 am, Rusk - Palestine - Rusk round trip departs;
Special reserved cars for TSRR Railfan Weekend attendees.
Power: No. 300 (2-8-0, Baldwin 1917).
3:30 pm, Arrive Rusk;
Power and consist changed for afternoon special run.
4:15 pm, Railfan Weekend Special departs for round trip to Maydelle.
Power: No. 201 (4-6-0, Cooke 1901).
7:00 pm, Arrive Rusk; brief night photo opportunity (no special
lighting provided).

Accommodations: A special rate has been arranged for Railfan Weekend
participants at the Holiday Inn Express. Reservations should be made
directly with the hotel at 1-903-723-4884; request the special Houston
Railroad Museum room rate. Reservations must be made by Nov. 7, 2006,
to guarantee the special rate. For other accommodations in the area,

Terms and Conditions:
The Texas State Railroad Railfan Weekend is sponsored by Gulf Coast
Chapter, National Railway Historical Society, Inc., a nonprofit Texas
corporation dedicated to railroad heritage preservation and education.
Participation in the Railfan Weekend (hereafter the Event) constitutes
agreement to these Terms and Conditions. Gulf Coast Chapter, National
Railway Historical Society, Inc., and its members (hereafter the
Sponsor), and Texas State Railroad shall not be held responsible or
liable in any way for damage, injury or loss to person, property or
otherwise in connection with the proposed steam train excursion and
related events. The Sponsor acts only in the capacity of agent for the
passenger in all matters pertaining to transportation and services, and
assumes no liability for any injury, damages, loss, accident or
irregularity occasioned by vehicle defects, defaults or carriers or
their personnel, any additional expense due to delays, motive power
failure, change in service, illness, weather, strikes, quarantine, war
or other causes. Although the locomotive(s) and equipment provided for
the event are expected to be as represented by the Sponsor, the Sponsor
has no control over provision of same and cannot guarantee that
specific equipment will be available for the event. The Sponsor
reserves the right to cancel the Event without advance notice. In such
case, the Sponsor?s liability shall be limited solely to the train
excursion fare paid. Handling charges, if any have been incurred, will
not be reimbursed. The Sponsor reserves the right to change routes,
equipment, motive power, departure or destination points or times,
schedules or any other aspect of the event as necessary without advance
notice, and such changes shall not be subject to refund. The Sponsor
shall not be responsible for tickets or passes that are damaged, lost
or stolen and will not replace them. All fares must be paid in full in
advance. No fares will be refunded after Nov. 10, 2006. Passengers must
check in no later than 10 minutes before departure to guarantee seat
availability. Seats not claimed will be released to standby passengers
10 minutes before departure. Sorry, no discounts for children. While
the event is open to railfans of all ages, it may not be appropriate
for children under 10 years of age. All children must be accompanied by
an adult at all times during the Event. The Sponsor welcomes the
participation of the disabled and the handicapped, but it should be
noted that the historic equipment comprising the excursion train and
related facilities may not be specifically equipped to accommodate the
disabled. All passengers should be able to board and alight from the
train with a minimum of assistance.
