Looking through the roster information in Ed Fulcomer's "Colorado & Southern"
Southern division there is no mention of any of them being wrecked until 1981.
882 (BN 2nd 6343, and 884 (BN 2nd 6344) 882 in 1981 and 884 in 1990. Montana
Rail Link has most of them still running.

Subject: [CBQ] Question about 2 C&S SD40's
Hello,
A friend of mine is doing research of C&S SD40's and believes the 876
and 877 were wrecked between 10/1967 and 12/1968 and replaced with new
units of the same numbers. The /1973 and /1980 EMD production books
shows these as order number 8082 (rebuild) with new build dates of
12/1968. These were originally built on order number 7073 delivered
10/1967.
He is curious to know if this information is correct and if so,
details surrounding the accident.
Thank you,
Brian Ambrose
